Bottom line: An AI presentation maker turns a prompt or an existing document into a draft slide deck you then edit. The right one depends less on the AI than on where the deck has to end up. If it must be an editable PowerPoint file, check export first: PopAi exports PPTX, Beautiful.ai lists PowerPoint import and export with every seat, while Pitch’s free plan does not export to PowerPoint at all. If your company already pays for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, the assistant built into PowerPoint or Slides may be the cheaper starting point. Prices and plan details below were read on each vendor’s own page on 23 October 2026 and are “as of October 2026”.

What an AI Presentation Maker Actually Does

The tools in this guide share one workflow: you describe the deck (or upload a source), the AI proposes an outline, you adjust it, the AI fills slides with text, layout and images, and you edit the result. The differences are in three places:

  • What you can start from — a prompt only, or your own PDF, Word file, slides or web page.
  • Where the deck lives afterwards — inside the tool, or as an editable PPTX you can hand to anyone.
  • How AI use is metered — unlimited, monthly credits, or a one-off allowance that does not renew.

Searches for “AI presentation maker free” are among the most common for this category, so the free limits get particular attention below.

PopAi

PopAi describes its presentation tool on its own site as a way to “turn an idea or existing file into a clear, editable presentation”. You can start with a prompt, a PDF, a Word document, a PPTX file or a web page; PopAi then builds an outline you can add to, rename and reorder, you choose a template or visual style, edit the deck online, and “export as PPTX or share via link”. Its suggested prompt is a good model for any of these tools: state the number of slides, the audience, what to summarise and the tone.

The strength is the range of inputs: turning an existing report into a first-draft deck is the job where these tools save the most time. PopAi’s pricing page did not load its plan details for us, so check credit limits on the site before relying on the free tier. Our full PopAi review covers its spreadsheet and document features.

Beautiful.ai

Beautiful.ai’s pricing page lists Pro at $14.50 a month billed annually, Team at $40 per user per month billed annually (or $50 billed monthly), Enterprise on request, and a single-presentation option at $45 billed monthly. Every seat includes “unlimited AI content generation”, AI image generation, an AI writing assistant, translation, context from uploaded files or links, and “PowerPoint import and export”. There is a 14-day free trial of Pro or Team, but a credit card is required and you are charged automatically if you do not cancel.

Pitch

Pitch is the most generous genuinely free option on paper, with an important catch. The Free plan is €0 with unlimited presentations, but its 100 AI credits “do not renew once used”, and it has no PowerPoint export, video uploads or custom fonts. Paid plans, billed yearly, are Plus at €10 a month (500 AI credits a month), Team at €15 (500 credits shared) and Business at €20 (750 credits); extra credits cost $0.004 each. Pitch imports PPTX files. Its page is inconsistent on whether Plus includes PowerPoint export, so confirm with Pitch if that matters to you.

Google Slides with Gemini

Google’s Slides page says you can “Generate a slide” from a simple prompt using your Drive content, generate original images for slides, and catch up with summaries. “Anyone with a Google Account can create in Slides”, but the page describes Gemini features as available “as an add-on”. If your team already lives in Google Workspace, this keeps decks where they are shared and commented on today.

Copilot in PowerPoint

Microsoft’s support guide describes the flow: open Copilot Chat in a new presentation, describe what you want, answer Copilot’s clarifying questions about audience, length, template and imagery (or skip them), and Copilot builds the deck using your template and, for organisations, a Brand Kit. Starting from a Word document works best when the document uses Word Styles for structure and is under 24 MB. Microsoft notes that if Copilot does not appear, “it might not be included with your Microsoft 365 subscription”.

When the Deck Is a Recurring Job

If you rebuild the same deck every week — a sales update, a project report — from new numbers, an AI agent can be a better fit than a presentation tool. MuleRun runs tasks on what its site calls “a dedicated computer that stays on 24/7”, can repeat a workflow on a schedule, and delivers results to email or Slack. Its pricing page lists a free plan with 500 bonus credits on sign-up and 200 refreshed daily, and Plus at $16 a month billed yearly for 2,000 credits a month (at $1 = 100 credits). Our MuleRun review explains how to estimate what a workflow will cost in credits.

How to Choose

  1. Decide the final format first. If the deck must be an editable PowerPoint file, rule out anything that cannot export PPTX on the plan you will pay for.
  2. Test with your own source document. Give each tool the same report and the same prompt, and compare how much editing the draft needs.
  3. Read the AI allowance, not just the price. A free plan with 100 one-off credits is a trial, not a free tool.
  4. Check what you already pay for. Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace may already include, or offer as an add-on, an assistant inside the app your colleagues use.
  5. Check every fact the AI writes. These tools draft confidently; numbers and claims in the deck are still your responsibility.
